Thanks! I agree and when these stamps have a manufacturer's label or plate, better yet. I have a Civil wartime Ink Stamp from Öhringen manufactured by a print shop / book store that's still in business. They even have a FB page! It would be fun to visit the shop and show the ink stamp, but I'm afraid it may not be received well.. ;D

Hey Guys,   I added this wax seal to my collection a couple of months back and haven't gotten around to sharing it. It was used by the II. / Flak Regiment 14 and below I've pasted some information about the Unit as well as the manufacturer of the seal. "Stempel & Schilder Manufaktur WEICHERT" had been in business since the 20's and was just closed down by Mike Weichert on January 31, 2025. There are two photos of the company, one being the permanent location and the other, a temporary location due to bombing concerns in town.    The Unit's info:   "Formed on October 1, 1937, in Bonn as a light detachment and subordinated to the Higher Commander of the Anti-Aircraft Artillery in Air District III. On November 15, 1938, the detachment was converted into Light Anti-Aircraft Detachment 84. Re-established on November 15, 1938, in Klön-Ossendorf from the I. / Flak Regiment 74 with five batteries. The detachment was subordinate to Air Defense Command 4. Until 1942, the detachment was located in Air District VI. In 1942 the department was subordinate to the staff of the 10th Flak Regiment in the 18th Flak Division , in February 1944 to the staff of the 6th Flak Regiment in the 10th Flak Brigade, in March 1944 to the staff of the 182nd Flak Regiment in the 2nd Flak Division , in April 1944 to the staff of the 151st Flak Regiment in the 6th Flak Division and from May 1944 to the 18th Flak Division . From September 1944 the department was subordinate to the staff of the 23rd Flak Regiment in the 10th Flak Brigade and from October 1944 to the staff of the 10th Flak Regiment in the 23rd Flak Division . In January 1945 it was located near Radom, and in April 1945 in Fürstenwalde."   Thanks! James        

Great, sort of what I was thinking.

Looks like a Real German Army (not SS) pith helmet, but the felt ones never made it to Africa, they were mainly used in Italy. The feldpost stamp looks like a post war addition.  You see the square edge markings of a rubber stamp, while real German stamps were circular (and metal).  Also putting a feldpost stamp on a hat or helmet would make no sense.

The German style looks like a MC helmet.

Hat is from the Venda Defence Force an independent state (Homeland) within South Africa’s borders. Dates to about 1982, nice rarely seen headdress 

This one came from a friend of Wifey's family whom was an ZA Angolan conflict veteran, and for the life of me I can't remember what it is - Police? It was one of his war trophy's.
