This helmet is 100% original, left here after a German soldier named Kulp was wounded and from Liguria (an Italian region) was transferred to hospitals in Piedmont (another region). From there he was repatriated to Germany and some of his things were left behind. The war was practically over. This helmet was passed from a caretaker of the old hospital site to the caretaker of the village cemetery who years ago still had it and gave it away, exchanging it with a copper pot. Yes in Italy there are findings of war material, especially on the Gothic Line excellent discoveries are made regarding WWII -

Can anyone help me identify this piece of shrapnel? It is from the UK and probably around an airfield. The only thing I can think of is an American Mk. 2 “Pineapple” grenade but I just can’t definitively nail it down. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. (It is a little bigger than a US quarter) It was given to me by a veteran who just recently died. -

Not my field of expertise and I´m afraid I can´t help you to answer your question because I don´t see any link between these 3 plates. The writing on the back of the wooden 160er plate has a couple of abrevations. If you need a translation of the writing on the back here it is. "Unserem Leutnant und Adjutanten D. Zimmermann zum 38. Geburtstag - Die Unteroffiziere und Mannschaften des Stabes" (To our lieutenant and adjutant D. Zimmermann on his 38th birthday - NCO and enlisted of the HHQ). So this plate was a birthday present to the CO´s adjutant. -

Hi, I have come across the following cigarettes. Not quite the same design as the original posting but does have reference to "Dai Nippon"and appears to have a picture of the Imperial Japanese Navy on the reverse side. Is anyone able to confirm this? These are WW2? -
