Hi FULMINATA.    My apologies for the late response to your helpful comment, I have been unexpectedly away from home.    Thank you for your time and effort, it’s appreciated.    Gunner 87

Yes, a press photo sold/distributed by Heinrich Hoffmann.  These are nice photos with the description pasted to the back along with Hoffmann's stamp.

Whatever it's called...  A phenomenon worth learning about.  Best book I've read on the subject...     Some additional reading below, and some relevant images from around the internet...   [Can anyone identify all the awards on Dr. Morell's ribbon bar in the sixth image below?]   https://www.tracesofwar.com/articles/4656/Theodor-Morell.htm   https://spartacus-educational.com/GERmorrellT.htm   https://oddfeed.net/theodor-morell-hitlers-doctor/

Here's some assistance, and two images of the medal from Post #5:   https://www.lancaster.ac.uk/staff/hartleyi/acediscussion.htm   https://www.medalsofengland.com/medals.php?id=148&medalid=803#:~:text=The basic surfaces on a,that nice original mint colour.   Addendum: What concerns me is that the dealer didn't specify if this ACE Star is genuine or reproduction.  This is a generally reputable Canadian dealer.  The price is something of a give-away.  I think it's a fake.

I thought “official” copies were clearly marked COPY on the rear.

I can't zoom in to the photo of that medal for sale and the photo itself is not very high quality, so it is a bit tricky to see but it looks to me that the obverse is a bit pitted, which could mean that it was cast rather than struck. I am very suspicious of it anyway..... Rob

I’ve also considered it might be a pre WW2 good luck symbol, just odd it also came with a Maltese cross. I believe the cross is missing something as well. To put into perspective, this came with an estate of WW2 and WW1 era British insignia medals and pins. I guess it could be a British flag also right? Maybe a British nazi sympathizer?

A Hussar 1914. Regiment unknown, the Cavalry apparently did not mark the Reed Green Cover with Regimental number like  most of the Infantry, Field and Foot Artillery, and Engineers

Lets add a few, no Camo, but great HG PZ DIV foto finds.   An interesting one, a formation of the Panzer Regt HG, see how the whole lot are armed as Infantry except for the two senior NCOs at the left of rank MG 34s, Rifles, MP 40s with the Ammo Pouch to match, the MG gunners with the tool pouch etc, I wonder why.   No date or location is given, the buildings don't look like its in Italy, possibly then in The Netherlands at the HG Training Depot???

The ribbon is confusing. Finland used the swastika and the Maltese cross. But not the red/white/blue ribbon. The cross might be missing a piece.

I picked this photo up of Hitler and the first Luftwaffe Ace Helmut Wick at a flea market a few years ago. I paid $10.00 for it and was happy to add to the pile. It was taken by Hitler’s official photographer Heinrich Hoffman. I would like to know if they were mass produced by Hoffman to sell or is it a news service photo, is it rare? Any information would be appreciated.   Thanks!
