Thought a German made RAF-style cap made for the Dutch Air Force was kind of neat. I suspect 1960s as the maker’s mark looks like Bundeswehr caps of that period. Any other information appreciated! -

So I got this in a grouping years ago. The guy was in the CBI. I was wondering if this is a souvenir and if you can tell what it is made of. I don't think its bone but I don't know if it may be ivory or plastic. The characters look Chinese to me but maybe you all know better. The blade is just skosh over 12 inches and I think it may be from a broken sword but I'm just guessing. Thanks for any info . Also looks as if there was something on the ends but was gone long ago. They are close, and you are right about the use of it in the 1930s as a "Traditions" flag, those were generally made out of wool and usually had a distinct black dashed border to the hoist. Real WWI are very rare, even the 1930s ones are hard to find. -

I posted this on the 'What's it" section about 10 days ago and it was identified as a 1917 tactical field map. I posted it here to get more coverage of those interested in the pre 1933 items. It's not mine but It belongs to a neighbor of mine who believes it was his grandfathers who served in WW1. I am posting it to share with others that have more knowledge about it and historical relevance than I do. Any comments or information appreciated. Photos are first and scans are the last 6 images. Measures approximately 105 cm x 55 cm. Many thanks! -

Thanks. I know that these Imperial style flags / ensigns were also produced during WWII. They were required to be flown on a very specific list of special occassions. I thought, perhaps, this was one of those. Thanks a bunch for your time and input gents. I appreciate it. -

I kind of got the pilot badges to go along with my two issued pilot watches. One badge is from after the war probably soviet? But the first badge at top is the one I just added to the collection. These are hard to find the ones made of silver with makers marks are really hard to find so settled for this one that some pilot had tome craftsman make in the field out of zinc was told around 1944 maybe made in France. -
