Thanks qed4. Hadn't thought of them, but had thought about Red Cross, Salvation Army and others. I have two great books on woman's uniforms but couldn't find anything like it. I'll try the CCC's. My grandfather was an officer in the CCC's, wish he were alive so I could ask him. Ken -

Hello, I am interested in this visor, but I would like to ask here to see if this is real, the seller has no information about it, and all they know is that it is Russian. Anything would help, thank you. -

Sarge, thanks a lot. You just confirmed my doubts about these items. I searched a lot in the internet trying to compare the originals with these ones and there were so many discrepancies. I will pass on them. Cheers -

They all look like reproductions to me. Lack of detail on the front and poor construction of pins ,etc. on the reverse. For instance the last pin is poorly constructed and the eagle should be attached to the wreath with pins. I would pass on all of these badges if I were you. -

Yes Douglas Wilmer was in, An RA Officer, seconded to the Royal West African Frontier Force, served in a Anti Tank Company of one of the Regiments of the RWAFF, Gold Coast or Nigeria in East Africa in in 1940-41, sees action against the Italians, but got real sick, tuberculosis, and was medically discharged after a point. Wilmer know for his playing Sherlock Holmes in the 1964-65 BBC T.V. Series, also played a a ton of stuff In two of his more eclectic roles. The Moor Emir Moutamin in the 1961 El Cid. And as Abdallahi ibn Muhammad, called Khalifa Abdullah, a real life Mahdist Devotee and General, and successor to the Mahdi when he died in the 1966 Khartoum, in both movies we might add co-staring with Charlton Heston. -

I have just received a German dog tag from, Im pretty sure WW2. It is such a hard thing to research and was hoping to put a name to a number, but that is proving an impossible task. I have however worked out that the engraving means: 1st Company/Infantry reserve/Battalion 512 The letter A means the soldiers blood type and the 5900 number is the ID of soldier. Is anyone here a dog tag expert? and able to confirm i am reading it correct? If i am reading this correctly, after further investigation, i think this battalion was attached to the 143rd reserve division that was located either Brest, Ukraine or Dubno, Ukraine. Thanks for any other information -
