Hello, Since it is the holiday season, I thought I would post a couple of WWII German Christmas related items. My pics are not the best, but it is too much work to dismantle my display to take these out. It is like stacking cards carefully and then trying to pull one out without collapsing the rest. Anyway, here is a rare mini-Christmas tree meant to be sent to soldiers on the front. I have only seen one other, and it was without the box. This one is in the original box. I doubt it was ever mailed for whatever reason and simply forgotten. I was told it was found in an attic in Germany in more modern times. At its base is a St Nicholas donation tinnie. I believe it was for 1936 but do not remember exactly. I thought they were neat items, especially the boxed tree. The survivability of these must be really low. Imagine this being displayed in a bunker or trench, then bothering to mail it back home if you were a soldier circa 1944. I believe most of these just ended up buried in the trench or left behind in a bunker. If anyone has any more WWII era German Christmas related items please feel free to add. I wish you all a Merry Christmas and holiday season. Cheers! -

I agree, I think it's a British Aertex tropical BD Jacket with a removable buckle for the waist strap. -

I've seen it. It's legit. I just don't have access to my books right now. I believe it is pre war. Sorry I can't give you an ID right now! -

It's important to note that replica badges often have maker marks that are identical to legitimate WWII makers. The fact that a badge is marked has little to do with determining authenticity. -

Conjecture on another website was that this sword might be either a "custom made police sword" or a "military school sword". One commented, "More likely is 4th Junior High School 第四中學校as Japanese police stations are not numbered but bear names of their location. Military drills were mandatory at all public junior high schools and higher educational institutions in Japan since 1925 so the sword could have belonged to the school for use in such." -
