Just picked up a nice German banner. Just seeing what the forum thinks. I added three pictures. One showing the stitching. -

Thanks for the information. I do have an Ancestry account but it's the cheap one. I have been using Google Translate so that I can read the cards in English. I know some German but not all. I am surprised there isn't a book out there. They have books on everything else. Happy Holidays! -

Welcome Stephan, I would recommend joining the US Militaria Forum if you haven't already as there are many who share ANREF items and history there. Looking forward to seeing your posts! Scott -

Welcome aboard. You may like to take a look at this thread on Gendarmerie uniforms. There are some nice examples of WWII German mountain warfare uniforms shown. -

Was the dagger taken apart and put back together incorrectly? -

Hi Lance yes unfortunately it’s missing it’s badge and hanger . Im trying to figure out why the hanger ring is on the left hand side of the scabbard and not on the right as all others i have seen , the dagger only goes in that way which leaves the hanger ring on the left side and no screws on the scabbard have been touched? bit of a mystery! -

Imperial Army shoulder board of a one-year volunteer (Einjaehrig Freiwilliger - reserve officer candidate) of Infanterie-Regiment "Kaiser Wilhelm" (2. Grossherzoglich Hessisches) Nr. 116. The Regiment was garrisoned in Giessen, Hesse. A very nice rank insignia, thanks for sharing! -
