Hello, I have a few mannequins I like to put uniforms on in my house (who doesn't? Haha). Anyway I always thought a police uniform would be great for one of these. I found this on a website of a company that seems reliable and it looks legit but I am not an expert (i have read "detecting the fakes" and a few other books) Any opinions and thoughts would be great before I make a purchase. -

This is a letter from Pionier (engineer) Klaus Sander to a SS armored infantryman Ekkehard Schmidt, deployed near Berlin. The letter was written on June, 25th 1944. Klaus wrote after a longer break that he completed his first 3 weeks of basic training including his swearing-in ceremony. He wrote that his service is hard but interesting. He likes the region (of Hannover Münden, his garrison town). He asked Klaus to write back soon, sent his best wishes etc. On the back of the card he asked where Erich, Albrecht und Horst E. remained. I´m not 100% sure about it but I think Schmidt´s unit is 4. Ausbildungskompanie / SS Panzergrenadier-Ausbildungs- und Ersatzbataillon 1 (4th training company / SS armored infantry training and replacement bataillon 1). Sander is serving with Panzerpionier Ersatz- und Ausbildungsbataillon 29. (Armored engineer training and replacement battalion 29. Hope this helps. -

Have had this jacket for years - wore a lot in college as a windbreaker. Only recently decided to figure out what it is. I believe it's an RAF MK III jacket? If so, any guesses as to the date? And what is the internal flap for? -
