This is a nice aluminum badge, not something I collect but I've had it for awhile. Thanks for any comments.

I bought this original German M40 helmet  and was wondering about the markings on this helmet. The helmet is refurbished I know but wondering about the lot number. Not sure about the number 24664. Seems like a lot of digits.

I'm sure this is French from the label inside but I haven't been able to find photos of it in use. Has anyone seen this style? It's deceptive in that there is a light hard shell beneath the fabric. More pics

Been studying this foto for over 40 years since I seen it in the Davis book when I got in in the summer of 1978. Came to the finial conclusion these two are from the 21st Panzer Division, the Panzer-Aufklärungs-Abteilung 21, the original Reconnaissance unit of the then 5th Light Division was the Aufklärungsabteilung 33 , which was formed from the 33rd Infantry Division's Aufklärungsabteilung 33  which was from elements of  Kavallerie-Regiment 6, one of the units awarded the eagle. in Africa the now 21st Panzer Division, the unit was redesignated as the Aufklärungs-Abteilung 3.   The 21st Panzer Division was destroyed in Africa, and when it was reraised, the Reconnaissance unit was retitle Panzer-Aufklärungs-Abteilung 21, and here I think the new unit kept wearing the eagle as a tradition badge purpose as a unit, as it really was a lineal descendant of the Kavallerie-Regiment 6/Aufklärungsabteilung 33/Aufklärungs-Abteilung 3.
