Hi all! I thought I’d circle back to share my findings. This is in fact a reproduction badge. The pattern is FLL; the eagle and the hinge on the back. However the eagle lacks the quality in details as a real FLL and maker mark is incorrect as it is Juncker. -

I had not thought of it as a flag pole base for a mounted flag-bearer. The bottom is open. I would like to see one in use. I have the book; "THE CAVALRY 1939-1945" by Janusz Piekalkiewicz, which is a history book with many great photos. I will report back if I find a picture. This has gotten me thinking and here is a picture of the leather "cup" on the base of an Argentinian Model 1905 Lance. Humm... But, yes! A flag staff looks like it would fit! -

And take your pictures in the shade. Make sure the light source is shining on the helmet. Even in the shade light is coming from a certain direction so get it lined up. All my helmet pictures are taken with my phone outside in the shade. -

Thanks not being a collector of Russian Military and being in the USA i found it interesting + and thinking maybe a great find in there somewhere Oh Yes the radical over price is typical for this (Salvation Army) store, I was thinking maybe they knew something I did not 🙃 Oh they did offer a 20% discount 👎 -

Hi , The number 1873 on the lid seems to have been painted on at the same time as the kanji characters, does anyone know the significance of the numbers ?? -

I think you could buy hats with all this brick-a-brack attached as souvenirs in Russia. IMHO, hilariously, ridiculously over priced. -

The originals always seem to have far better detail and materials used IMO. Cheers
