Yes it is, and be very careful, there are a s@@t ton of different civil defense helmets, check the dealers sites. Go over to Griffin Militaria,Dan usually has a lot of CD lids that you can check out. -

Apex vent are the 2 vent holes on top of helmet on both sides? They are not on the first helmet I posted. Good to know. Based on that the helmet pictured here should be of a soldiers M90 Thank you for that Mr. Bushido! -

+1 You can go to more militaria forums and go back to the very begining of their posts and read them up until the present,most are free, you'll probably learn more than reading from books that was a big part of my knowledge when I started collecting TR headgear a few years ago. You also might want to take LOTS OF NOTES. -

A good starting point for judging this issue might be the apex vent. Most military helmets have four holes, while civilian helmets do not. However, some helmets are well modified, so this is just a rough guide.
